Full-time Houston TX $130 - $155K Based on Experience

Global Technology Company in Houston is seeking a DevOps Engineer with first-hand experience in scripting/automating technology and deployment infrastructure for microservices used by applications for public clouds such as Google Cloud, Azure and AWS.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful DevOps Engineer is technical with excellent team/people skills.
Deploying, automating, maintaining and managing Google cloud-based production system, to ensure the availability, performance, scalability and security of productions systems.
Build, release and configuration management of production systems.
Acceptance Testing to help assure the quality of our client's products and services.
System troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains
Suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements.
Ensuring critical system security through the use of best in class cloud security solutions
Follows best practices associated with DevOps and value-driven development – ensuring quality from concept to production.
Experience and Competencies:
Experience in client-server virtual systems engineering and infrastructure configuration (VMs, security, network)
Strong scripting experience in at least two of the following Perl, Bash, Python, PowerShell
Kubernetes and Docker: experience with K8S and Docker infrastructure management and deployment. With strong knowledge in container and virtualization technologies
Hans-on experience with DevOps practices and tool-sets, such as Terraform, Ansible, Packer, GitHubEn, Lambda, CodeDeploy, CircleCI, Vault, Jenkins/Travis, CI/CD delivery models.
Strong skills debugging locally and remotely with ability to understand all levels of a distributed system
Google Cloud Platform: knowledge of a broad range of GCP technologies (e.g. GAE, GCE, GCS and mainly Google Cloud Deployment Manager) to develop and maintain a cloud solution, with an emphasis on best practice cloud security.
Acceptable strong Cloud experience in other Cloud Platform like AWS or Azure.
Understanding network topologies and common network protocols and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP).
Linux and Windows system administration (Linux preferred)
Experience with system monitoring tools
Experience with Data Analytics is a plus (Redshift, EMR, etc.)
Preferred programming experience in at least few of the following Python, JavaScript, GoLang, Ruby, Java.
